To Ted Debiase...

How hypocritical is it for Ted Debiase to call the UW a "cartoon". Okay Ted, uh you were the "Million Dollar Man"?... One of the most most idiotic, bafoonish, cartoon gimmicks in the business, not to mention totally unconvincing.

Seeing Ted and these guys rip on the UW becuase he doesn't have good wrestling technique is like saying that a rock band automatically sucks if the guitarist can't play "Stairway to Heaven" or a Van Halen solo. Being able to play a highly technical solo isn't what makes a band good, it's the songs they write and the melody they play, no matter how simple or complex. If you've got the magic, you've got the magic.

These guys were just overwhelmingly jealous. And I can see why they would be, having to get squashed by this newcomer in front of millions of people. But their problem is their platform for criticism is that the UW wasn't a good wrestler - well that's not why the UW was a Champion. And that's not why Green Day sells millions of albums. It's because the UW leveraged appearance, charisma, intensity, strength, and storyline - what a lot of those guys were lacking.

I am Jack's total lack of surprise.

I agree Ted Dibiase really wasnt ripping on the Warrior. He was completely profesional and I loved his character back in the day. Ted did rip on the warrior on one of the interviews but it wasnt put in the final documentary it was in the special features in the dvd. And I feel he was completely justified for his feelings.

I truly believe Dibiase was speaking not out of jealousy but as someone who respects and loves the business of wrestling. In the documentary he even acknowledged Warrior's appeal in terms of charisma and appearance and the "cartoon" line was meant as a compliment. He was saying that the problem with the Warrior was his ego, his disrespect for the industry and his disrespect for his peers.

In a DVD that is filled with many cheap shots, I find it baffling that you decided to pick on The Million Dollar Man (which by the way was a wonderful gimmick for the time) the most unbiased person interviewed. If you were speaking about Bobby Heenan, Sgt. Slaughter or Jerry Lawler, I would have agreed with the "sour grapes" argument. Leave Ted Alone.

Every man has his price.

Vince McMahon had stated that the Million $ Man gimmick is one he always wanted to be. The cocky, rich, buy anyone and use-em-to-cheat-to-win was something that kind of followed over to the Vince MaMahon heel character in the late 90's and into today..

Calling any wrestler in the 80s a cartoon is almost redundant. Everyone was a cartoon back then. Macho Man was a walking cartoon too. An amazing, cocaine fueled cartoon. Same for Warrior, and Hogan, and Piper, and everyone else (yes I mean cocaine fueled for all of them too).
