Bizzarely Brilliant!

As I commented in another post, Displaced is bizarre, crazy, action-packed, different and doesn't take itself seriously. And I like it for those qualities. It's not the best film I've ever seen - not by a long way - but it has many redeeming qualities. It got me curious and I've been doing some research on the guys who made this and their story is pretty amazing in itself. I think they deserve some kudos for that.

Well, you're sounding suspiciously like one of the guys involved with your posts... But, personally, I enjoyed the film. The plot and acting were absolute trousers, but I took it in the spirit it was (I hope) intended, that of a low budget action flick. I think it served the purpose rather well.

Most of the fight scenes were well choreagraphed, some of the jokes made me smile, the effects were, at times, pretty good for something so cheaply made and the attractive women were easy on the eye.

Bollox, but not without merit.

I found this totally unwatchable - I gave up after about 20 minutes. (And I have watched a lot of rubbish in my time).

Anyone who praises this piece of garbage is probably associated with the production.

First I was not involved in the production.

Secondly, and I know it is stupid...I haven't seen this film yet although I am going to root it out....
however this morning, I happened to meet one of those involved in the production.

It was apparently made with virtually no money.....(under £100K)

The contributions were mostly favours, freebies or friends.....

Whilst this might not excuse a poor production in itself.....(if it is that poor) ....I wonder if those commenting have ever tried to put together their own thing.....I don't know....but if you've got £100m to spend on the film you can pretty much get who you want to play and you can probably control the compromises that you have to make to bring your vision to the screen....but £100K to make a sci fi movie sounds pretty sensational if you get it on the screen at all.
