Most definitely! He was one of my favorite characters. There would be these lines, spoken so non-nonchalantly, like, "Tell my story" as Gram was trying to take a bite out of him, that just tickled me. He had great delivery and either set up Grug or followed through on his jokes.
A couple of my other favorites:
"Dad, I don't think I have a brain."
"So easy to remember!"
"I think I have this figured out, Dad, just stop running into their fists".
"Good boy, Douglas!"
And the two that pulled on my heartstrings, when Thunk was alone in the cave and grabbing his fingers and toes, "I don't know what to do, Dad, just tell me what to do" and then, "You're not coming with me, are you?". Yes, he was brilliant.
