It was recently announced that Universal canned the film, and its staff is being moves onto stuff.

It's been shelved. That means it's not in production, but could get picked up again at some point. Remember, the original was ten years in the making....

That's interesting. What is SGI? And around when was that?

SGI...Silicon Graphics... all the cgi is ...or was, done on them. You can find older machines on ebay. ..indigo, indy, octane2. Disney, Warners, the South Park series was fone on them.

I worked for them from may 97 to late 98.

After being forced to watch the Croods by my wife, the happy ending was seeing the sequel getting axed.
