New girls

Does anyone else just feel like it's not the same without the original girls. Everytime I hear of a lineup change I get disappointed because it's just not the same. Also does anyone think they'll ever do sort of a join up with Celtic Thunder. Even if it's just like one song that's a bonus track or something.

We kind of had this discussion once. I think if any one else leaves the group, Celtic Woman is doomed. Meav leaving was bad enough. Orla leaving was worse. One more, and I'm afraid their popularity is kaput.

Does anyone else feel like they are steering towards more contemporary songs?
With the original members gone, I feel like they've lost that traditional Irish sound I enjoyed listening to in the beginning.

No..I love their new songs. I had the pleasure of seeing them in concert last year during their Songs of the Heart tour down under. While at first I was disappointed not to hear some of my fav songs of theirs, the concert left me with a huge smile on my face and a big desire to see them again. Then I bought the CD from the tour and I LOVE IT. It is still very Irish..in fact, there are more Irish songs on this than on New Journey, which had too much classical for my liking.

Just listened to some the German release songs for their Songs of Heart album, and I think you're right, they are pretty good. I do like the new singer Lisa Lambe.
Maybe I'm just missing the sound of Orla's voice in some of their songs. It was so distinct from the other girls.
I have yet to buy the Songs of the Heart album. I have the first two but since you've mentioned that there are more Irish songs on the new album...I think I'll go and buy it!

Yes, Orla is very special, and hard to replace her sound unless you get one of the Brennan girls in or someone similar. And they are not doing as many of the popular Celtic covers of people like Enya and Clannad etc, so the songs are not as easily recognisable as some of the earlier ones.

But a friend and I watched the songs of the heart concert on DVD last night and we were just mesmorised all the way through..again!!

I must admit though. I don't like Alex's version of True Colors. It just does not fit at all.

Oh I love watching their DVD! It's a shame that some of the songs that are in the DVD aren't on there album (particularly The Call). But I see that Nil Se'n La and Non C'e Piu are on the cd. I love those songs as well.

You're right, some of the not-so-well-known Irish songs I wouldn't recognize but I think that's a good thing! Maybe its better that I hear something new to my ears!

Just when I'm beginning to enjoy and accept some of the new members, they leave! I liked Alex's personality and her rendition of You'll Be in my Heart. I don't think True Colors really compliments her voice.
