Eerily similar to Kit's Law by Donna Morrissey

Some of the plot and characters were right out of Donna Morrissey's book, although the story wasn't the same. The location is much the same as well. Something tells me that Kit's Law heavily influenced this movie. Perhaps to the point that Morrissey should have got some sort of compensation or writing credit. Maybe she did.

"Young Triffie's Been Made Away With" was written as a play long before "Kit's Law" came out in 2001. I saw it on stage in 1996 and the play was much better than the movie (which I just watched last night). Although it may not be fair to compare a play with a movie, Gay Hauser & Mary-Colin Chisholm, as the doctor's wife & postmistress respectively, were much better than Andrea Martin & Mary Walsh.
