Beautiful, honest and touching.

What a great suprise this film was - I'd read a good review in The Guardian but nothing prepared me for how much I loved this film, the characters, the direction, the soundtrack, everything. It's such a confident debut by the director - I especially loved the sound design, with the constant din of traffic noise in the background as if to undercut any dreamy notions we have about romance. Spot-on performances by the two leads, a very realistic depiction of urban loneliness and dating, and some wonderful cinematic touches all combine to make a film to fall in love with.

I totally agree. This is a paradoxically sad romantic comedy, and the only thing that prevent the characters to be together is their loneliness and lack of connection, the only obstacle for love is that they, simply, don't fall for each other. However, they know they should and they really try, they follow every step in the book, but it never really started and so continues, on and on. It is a kind of plot I'd never seen before in the massively produced romantic comedies that hang around there. Very intelligent, subtle movie.
