I just watched it, he is a total tool. You don't have to be a complete ass to keep things going. It's insulting to the other guys to say that they can't make it without Charlie being a utter jerk. He ruins the entire thing with his vile behavior, and shows no respect for his team. Not cool.
If there was any question about his character, what kind of person he truly is, his slimy trickery at the end answered it - he is scum. I truly think he was trying to get to the end first, without them, but he couldn't do it. Louse.
