How hokey can you get?

The three seat bike was over the top. I have seen worse movies, but GAG!

Agreed, there was more than one hokey moment in this movie (you forgot the pillow fight which cured the child's pain...). I think the good moments more than balanced them but, still, a shame we have to put up with the cliches and warm/fuzzy montages.

And the cliche of the child running away to her mom's grave. By the way, how did a child who was new to the city find her way to the cemetery on the outskirts of NY City? This was an "Oh, please!" moment.

reply

Well, she could've asked where is the cemetery, but I'm guessing there are a lot of cemeteries in NY...

Me, I was just waiting for that "I want my mom!" sentence. Thankfully, I got it Who would've thought!

reply

My guess is she got in a taxi and asked to go there......

The cemetery depicted in the movie is Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn - a relatively short cab (or subway) ride from the Village (if that is in fact where they were depicted as living). Not the outskirts at all. I think it was chosen for all the reasons - relatively close by, very picturesque, and a great view of the Manhattan skyline. I think suspension of disbelief is necessary to watch just about any rom-com/dramedy in any case.

I agree about the 3 seat bike. Over the top.
