I don't know anything about the magazine business, but is it common for a mag writer to produce just one article per month? Surely you'd have to be paid a ridiculous amount per word, or be mostly freelance...? I just don't get it.

From the list of restaurants, I'd say it is one article, but covering many places. So in the paper, you may have a big review once a week. In the magazine, they may review 4-5 at one time per issue. Just a thought...
shareIf it's a monthly, then yes, one article a month is normal. It's more unrealistic that she got the office upgrade while on a 2 week probation. Offices generally go with rank.
