'He got frisky, so I sent him home in a cab.' (SPOILERS)

Did anyone else find this line very awkward, even suspicious? I thought it was really convenient how when Owen Wilson comes home and the baseball coach's car is still in the drive-way Jenna has such a pat explanation. It felt a little lazy, unconvincing somehow.

Do you think it's possible that in the original version, she did sleep with the coach? I was half expecting him to sneak out of the bathroom half naked when Owen and Jenna were reconciling. Maybe they original did have something like that, but chickened out to give it a sweeter/less dark ending.

You obviously missed the point, the hall pass wasn't just for the husband it was also for the wives to remember howuchvtbry love their husbands, did she enjoy spending time with another man yes was she flattered at the attention, yes but she wasn't going to cheat you could see it on her face.

I didn't obviously miss the point. I got all that, the Hall Pass was for the wives too, the week apart ultimately makes their marriage stronger, etc. What I was talking about was that awkward line specifically, and the suspiciously convenient explanation for how the coach's car is still there but he's not.

He's frisky, so she made him leave, but why was a taxi necessary?

They were drinking so maybe she called a cab because she didn't want him to drive drunk.

Seems plausible to me. The other thing is, she worked out the hall pass should have been for her, but still led herself in a situation that was going to unfold the way it did. At that point she even sort of realizes, she told HIM to do whatever he liked, but SHE should've been the one to be allowed so. She knew what was going to happen (or is very naive) and could even have ended up raped.
