Couple of silly things

We've built a time machine, but we'll leave it unguarded on some random rural property. Should be fine.

There's a maniac after me, and this guy I don't know is suggesting that instead of hiding behind one of these panels or making a run for it or barricading in, we corner ourselves in a mysterious tank of milk, or whatever that stuff is, with what seems like an invulnerable lid, and leave all those probably related controls on the outside. Why on Earth not?

Walking into the woods to spy on a weird naked girl while the wife makes her way to the nearby village to buy some food is already silly enough. Although it seems like the movie never takes itself too seriously, being more of a black comedy. Not a particularly funny one though. And all characters are seriously undeveloped.

He never went into the woods to spy on the naked girl. He went to see what the hell was it that he was seeing. Also, the characters are undeveloped? Silly complaint considering that this story literally takes place during a few hours and that the main character did change a lot.

reply

All he saw at the time was a naked girl acting a bit strange, nothing else. Some mystery. And what does character development has to do with the length of the storyline? Most plays take place during a few hour time, that's not an excuse for two-dimensional protagonists with no backstory and little to no individuality.

You see a naked woman standing in the woods near your house and you don't think that's weird? Well, normal people would find it weird. The woman could be a freak spying on your house, she could be being raped, she could be just someone having "fun", but in any case, it isnt' strange at all for him to go investigate, and it doesn't mean he went to spy on her (especially considering that he went directly to talk to her). Backstory? The whole purpose of his character was that he was a normal average guy, with an average wife, an average life, getting into an extraordinary situation. We didn't need any backstory about him being estranged from his daughter or something like that. And the character did change A LOT throughout the movie, so what the hell are you even talking about??? It seems to me that you don't remember the movie that well or you didn't pay enough attention. You should probably see it again before posting.

Thank you for not calling these "plot holes."

Enjoy these words, for one day they'll be gone... All of them.

lol I'm with you, a very misused term.

I like to think of Hector as the world's first time-traveler (which, for the most part, he is). None of this could be easy on a man who doesn't even check to see who/what stabbed him. If only to determine how many assailants there are to begin with. Nope, Hector is a fool. The fact Hector3 comes out of this Loop alive is evidence of Failing Upwards; temporally.

Some people are just so incredibly lucky that even their time-traveling doubles share in the cascading_luck.

I absolutely love this movie. I give it a 9.5 or something like that, but yeah, I agree with you that those are silly points. Although I think they work in the movie (to the point where I never even thought about them while watching it, until I read your post).

Couple of silly things?? The whole movie is silly :D
