I've seen this film and it's crap. Why is it rated so highly on this board? Can someone please explain why people think this is better than RESIDENT EVIL, which is the best zombie movie ever? Also don't tell me crap about Romero becuase I hate those films too!!!!
shareResident Evil is a good movie, but to say its the best zombie movie, and Van Helsing is one of the best movies of all time, and saying Romero's movies are no good then your movie taste is horrable, these could be your favorite movies, but you cant say either of them are the best in any catagory. shareThe reason this film is better than Resident Evil (and what film isn't better than Resident Evil), is that it's clearly made by people who love movies. Not by some suits who are cashing in on the popularity of a video game they had neither the creativity or capability to think of themselves. Even though this film was probably made for the same amount of cash that they spent on food on one day on Resident Evil, it has more heart, more wit and more imagination. That's one reason.

This movie needed like, $200 million budget to be done right, and it obviously had only a fraction of that. You need money to make a movie. If you don't, then don't bother! There isn't a single example of a low-budget film that wouldn't be better if it had more money!

The thing that I don't get about your argument is that you are insinuating that more money = better movie. well if that's the case how do you explain supreme wastes of money such as Batman & Robin and the Island? Not to mention those appalling recent Star Wars films? Or the Matrix Sequels? Throwing more money at a film does not guarantee a better film.

just look through the comments, i think youl find some pretty good reviews here, if you look, of course, just ignore the comments left by vitriolcritic, because most of the time he doesnt even slate the film, but the people that actually like it, its worth a watch, if you ever stumble accross it that is, its pretty hard to find.

shareWow heated argument to be honest i think this movie sucks has 1 or 2 decent parts but like somebody mentioned before way to small a budget to make a film like this and some of the dialogue is awful budget makes no difference to script so theres no excuses for this guys The early fight scenes are good but then for some reason when Loki goes off on his own to find the ship it almost falls into comedy witha zombie taking his glasses off that was bad. decent story though ill give it that but not pulled off maybe id give the director another chance though if he can get a budget.
Finally to the guy who calls Romeros stuff rubbish you should not be watching zombie movies if you dont like Romero dont get me wrong i also like the resident evil films but Romero rules.
