This is not EGYPT

where does the makers of this movie live ... cz i'm sure they live in the early fourties of the past century...

Egypt is not just deserts as the movie shows ... deserts is just the area around the Pyramids Only and not all the way down the River Nile... cz it's not allowed by the law to build around the area of any monuments to maintain its safety...

and the River Nile is quite wide and far away from the pyramids ...

as an Egyptian i assure that Egypt is the most crowded place you can ever see ...full of bridges, Streets and high buildings...

Besides Egypt is just like any other modern country that has cars and not camels ... Actually camels are for TOURISTS in the area of the pyramids ONLY.

and ppl in Egypt don't wear such stupid clothes AT ALL ... they dress like ppl in any other modern country ,they ride cars ... and they live in apartments ...

even workers in Egypt don't wear such oufits anymore (those who have been working on the Sphinx in the movie)...

and "Prince Omar" ?... ooh please give me a break ... royalty ended in Egypt since 1953 ... so who W.T.H is Prince Omar and his Uncle ???

this movie could have been ok if it was picturing the area of the thirties or fourties in Egypt... cz this is no way Egypt now

and for those who may want to see pictures of modern Egypt ... it will be so hard to find any pictures of modern Egypt ... cz most of the websites are interested mostly in the Egyptian pharonic History and pharonic monuments and historical places

there is only this website i found and it's not very good either

Yea, Scooby Doo tends to use all the cultural stereotypes in order to get the "feel" of the place, but ends up being pretty stupid. Don't worry though, that's not how everybody sees Egypt. I was able to notice that most things were painfully outdated stereotypes. Scooby Doo: Legend of the Loch also does this with Scotland.

Its a cartoon. I'm sure kids will learn about the real Egypt from School or hopefully from museums on their own(with parents).
I'm watching it now with my 3 yr old and I let her know that's not what Egypt looks like.

I've never even been to Egypt and I can tell that the thing is inaccurate. I'm surprised that the character name "Ahmad Ali Akhbar" has not raised more controversy, as the last part of his name is obviously derived from "Allah Akhbar" (sic?).

"Whennaya gonna give me some time, Sharona?"

lol yeah no kidding! what's up with the FLYING CARPET they find in cleopatra's tomb? Since when did this become Arabia?!?! Were the writers just itching for more cultural stereotypes and ran out of Egyptian ones so they went looking elsewhere?

Everyone this is a kids movie, don't read so much into it. Also remember that these kids act like they are still from the 70's mostly and have a talking dog. It's just a kids movie.. enough with everything having to be politically correct.

so they made tiny mistakes. oh well.
my uncle is one of the writers and he is amazing.
I get to see him next month!

Why are you expecting a Scooby-Doo cartoon to match the actual world?

Wow, so much pain in your ass cuz a kids movie doesn't show how Egypt really is... They did it too with my country and I don't give a *beep* about it, I enjoy it with my family like all the other movies.
