Is there a Reason the Nerd Kid had all the answers

In the Brain Quiz contest we know that the Fox and Hounds house has the answers to the questions. But, then the nerd whiz kid knew all the answers to the questions and was able to get them all out before anyone in Fox and Hounds. Was there any explanation for this beyond him just being smart? The scene went on too long and didn't have much pay off after the first 30 seconds. So, I thought maybe there was more explanation to it then just "he's really smart"

I don't think there was any point beyond him being smart...and them winning the event because of it.
