Trying to be Woody Allen

The movie was ok. I didn't think it was that great. It wasn't even that funny. How do you have Robert Klein in a movie and not have him being funny? If you've seen one indie film about rich people living in Manhattan, you've seen them all. It really didn't add anything new. Save your time and rent Annie Hall.

Not sure the movie was meant to be that funny, as with Woody Allen films it is more ironic. And I think Woody Allen I always find something to like in his movies, but for years they seem to be the same movie over and over.

I strongly disagree. Woody Allen films are not bad, per se, but his characters - usually him particularly - are SO damn neurotic that I want to claw out his eyes by the end of the movie. And this is coming from someone who is usually described by others as neurotic. To an extent, I appreciate showing the reality of relationships, but I don't think anyone is as neurotic as Woody Allen.

Call me Katie. ;-)

This movie is unique and good. Its unique because the strong character in the movie IS the free spirited wife. The primary focus on the movie is about relationships, jealousy and marriage.

The primary function of this movie is not to make people laugh, but to toss up many thought provoking ideas.

Its better than many Woody Allen movies.

Well, this film is certainly trying to be something, and Woody Allen seems to be an inspiration, but not the only one. At least Woody Allen's characters have a degree of spiritual richness and honesty that I just didn't see here. This isn't a horrible film, but I could have done without some of the zaniness and slapstick. 6/10 stars from me.

Sad but true. Tune in to 'Girls' with Lena Dunham. More of same.
