We're all brainwashed and there's no truth

As I was watching the movie, I reflected on the way Shaun is brainwashed by what Combo said about the Falklands and his father.

And when Cynth said "he is just 12" I was agreeing with her and thinking "true, it's easy to be brainwashed when you're so young"

But then I asked myself "at what age you're not so easily brainwashed anymore"?
And then came the scene with the lecture against Pakistani and I realize that there no aging has anything to do with becoming better at understanding where the truth is and avoiding brainwashing.

The truth is that every single human being in this world is brainwashed and the difference is just whom we choose to be brainwashed from.

If you think about it only a very detailed knowledge of 100 centuries of history and only a very detailed knowledge of every program and manifesto of every political party and every speech of every politician would allow one to really make informed decision when deciding whom to side with.

People often say that young kids can't make informed decision but they don't seem to realize that they're exactly like young kids are not making informed decision at all but making an emotional, often random choice.

That's why I think the voting age is stupid, because the way a 40 year old votes and the way a 14 year old would vote is the same. It's no an informed decision and often is just a gut feeling. And even when it's informed one can't even be sure that what he/she is being told is true. Very few people want to know the truth when they make a political choice and the few that want to know the truth have no way to know whether they're told the truth or not.

Everyone has arguments pro and against something and if you find someone passionate and charismatic enough, a great lecturer, both the versions of the story would appear equally appealing and right.

I don't believe in the truth anymore, expecially in politics. I believe everyone single human being, including noble prizes and Ph.Ds, choose to believe into something and never have enough objective information to prove their belief better than someone else's.

Is that you Nietzsche?

It's true that now there are no objective moral values. All we have is postmodern relativism. One man's casuistry is no better than another man's casuistry. Under these conditions everything is prohibited.

Science (some), mathematics, and Austrian economics. There you will find truth.

Everything else you said is pretty much spot on. For anybody who believes anything, there are plenty of valid and persuasive arguments against it.
