A very underrated movie which is more psychological in its study of the effects of violence and revenge with a great performance from Gillian Anderson and a nice and atypical role for Dyer- ignore the negative reviews,go in with an open mind and you might like this movie.

I found it to be a very compelling and unique revenge film with some nice twists.

It's thoroughly engrossing and really, so many people commenting on here who hate it apparently watched it while washing their cars or something.

I would recommend it, if only for Gillian's performance. She does a terrific job here. Well, she always does, but there are some scenes in here that really get under your skin (the morning in the woods after the attack, or the scene in the car where she recognizes the rapist and asks for his name).

You saved the world, Scully. -- Yeah... You're right, I did.

The scene were she recognizes the rapist is one of gillian Andersons most powerful scenes ever. i just don't think Danny dyer is a strong enough actor to compete with her.

Movies like this are the reason why I appreciate independent cinema. A brutally real, yet simple revenge tale. Gillian was terrific and on top of her game. 7/10.

The second half of the movie is when the movie gets really good. All around, it's worth watching.
