sharpe has had about 3 kids right 2 with lucille and 1 with tereasa , what happened to them , we know sharpe gave kid number 1 a small fortune , well what happened to the other 2 after lucilles death in challenge ?

I was surprised we never hear from Antonia after Teresa's death. I understand it must be pretty difficult to drag a baby along with him, but we always see whole families following the soldiers. So couldn't he have found a nurse for the baby girl? Or did he chose to leave her in Spain. Doesn't he care?
Also in the series he never tells Jane that he has a daughter. Nor does he tell Lucille. You might want to mention that before marrying someone or engaging into a long term relation. Especially if you want your new woman to raise your kid.
Do the novels shed some light on this?
Yes he explains in the Historical Notes the book after Teresa's death, and I beleive even in the storyline, that although some readers might be upset with his abandonment of Antonia, he assures us she lives a full and happy life with Teresa's family (who raised her anyway when she was off killing crapauds). And can you really see Sharpe dragging around a baby on his campaigns? I'm pretty sure he figure she'd be better off without him.
shareThe novel "Sharpe's Revenge" has a scene where Sharpe tells Lucille about his daughter Antonia. Jane remains ignorant as far as we can tell, but she cheats on Sharpe, so he shouldn't feel that bad about him not telling her.
One way to get revenge one Jane would be to tell her that it was he and Harper who killed her brother. That would have been interesting to see.
Thanks for the info everybody. I came to this board hoping to find out what had happened to Antonia . I know a good action hero can't drag a child around on all his adventures but I thought it was odd that Antonia was never mentioned in the later episodes
As for wives, Sharpe certainly has bad luck keeping them alive!
