I would LOVE to know what the story is with this movie. When is it coming out on DVD? Will it play at the P'boro theater...since, after all, it was filmed in P'boro!!

The theatrical opening is in Keene, New Hampshire 11/9/07. It is currently scheduled to make the rounds of the "art house" cinemas in New England. Contact your local theater owners to book this superb gem of a film in your area. Production company either/or films are now at work on their second film.

It's true! Last night was the premier at the Colonial Theatre in Keene. I actually work at a hotel across the street from there.. And all of the writers/producers/actors stayed at my hotel! It was really awesome - I wish I could've seen the movie.

That's neat! I read a local article in The Keene Sentinel over the weekend--sounded like a great turnout for the film and the town.

Saw the world premier in Keene on Friday night. Sold-out house. Very enthusiastic response. The exec producer, director, Straithairn, Waterston, Somerholder, casting director, soundtrack composer, cinematographer(?) were on hand for a Q&A afterward. Very interesting moment when director Aaron recited a poem by Anne Sexton that he cited as an inspiration for the story.

A neat little movie-- great performances by all the actors and fun to watch my hometown go by. (I'm a Peterborough NH resident.) In fact, that might have been a bit of a distraction. But I'll see it again when it shows here starting Friday 11/16.

I have a few quibbles with the movie-- a bit too long, maybe needs to be trimmed by 10-15 minutes. One of the main characters in a very annoying person (but well acted!). I think we got it--his scenes could have been a bit shorter. I found that there are too many separation devices in it: first, black and white flashbacks; second, still title cards a la silent movies such as "Verse I / Before Why"; and third, another type of card that was the start of a literary quote that the voice over is speaking. (I'm a graphic designer and I thought the quality of the typography could have been better. My bias.)

I heard the executive producer Buzz Mclaughlin speak at the Monadnock Summer Lyceum lecture series in Peterborough in the summer of 06 about the making of the film. Very informative--you can listen to it via NHPR.org which carries all the old Lyceum recordings.

Anyway, I hope SoS does well. Would like to see more films by this production group.
