Liked it...some questions

Surprisingly enjoyable..

A couple of questions if anyone knows...

Was there a curse by the demon/witch that caused the plague, or did there just happen to be a plague?

Why did the posessed girl save the boy on the bridge?

Couldn't figure this out...maybe I missed something obvious...

cheers

The demon caused the plague in the hope of it getting to the monastery in time to stop the monks from duplicating the book, it was also a useful tool to turn villagers against the girl it possessed.

The demon saves those that can get it into the monastery and kills those that may free it or jeopardize the 'holy' mission, I'm assuming the boy was the only one small or nimble enough to climb in to the monastery and unlock the front doors, just as he did. This allowed the others to pull the demon over the threshold of the monastery and on to holy ground.

Opinions are just onions with pi in them.
