Good entertaining movie

This movie was about the crusades and witch burning phase of the human history. Christianity spread with the sword and diseases were rampant. A lot of the misery was attributed to women randomly and branded as witches without much thought. They were then burned, tortured etc.

This movie is about 2 knights who fought in those crusades killing lots of people in the name of the Christian god and eventually get turned off by this killing.

They finally have to escort a woman to be tried as a witch to some church somewhere for her trial.

Overall, the movie and its premise were entertaining, the acting was good, characters had decent chemistry and I was enthralled.

Nicholas Cage is one of the few good versatile actors and he did a good job here.
Ron Perlman was also quite good. The rest of the cast was also good.

However, my complaint with the movie would be that it took on an actual supernatural, demonic theme instead of sticking to the skepticism route.

I would've preferred not delving into the horror realm but keeping it questioning as to what is right and wrong.

Still, a good movie.

My rating : 8/10

Yes indeed it is a good entertaining movie. I only wish that they had used Claire Foy a bit more than they did. She is great so she is. Claire was severely underused in this movie.

I take it you had indulged in a few 'wobbly pops' before watching this film ;-)
It's so bad it's comic. Really awful.
(The post about Claire Foy is right, though).

The whole problem with this film is the script/plot.
The cinematography is great, the actors talented, everything good and ready to go - but the story is rubbish!
