Am I the only one who has no idea what this movie was about?

After I watched it I found it had no plot whatsoever.

In the last film the animals escape NYC and end up in Madagascar. Then in this film they are in Africa but escape to Africa? Is that right?

Or they start in Madagascar and their plane crashes on the mainland?

Do I CAUSE YOUR FACE? Just like you caused Angelina Jolie's?

I find a strong often kills animations anyway. There was some plot in this (trying to get back to nyc, finding water, giraffe expressing his feelings) but it didn't drive the movie too much.

After some good laughs at the start I expected it to fall off like most other animations but it kept them coming to which I thank, in part, the lack of an over-arching plot.
