Melman's Witchdoctor Illness

Could use little help on this possible omission.
Remember the little sub-sub-subplot with Melman getting a brown spot on his shoulder? "Monday Joe here, Wednesday no Joe". Etc. Okay, so he has about 18 hours to live when Gloria and Melman discover they are meant for each other hanging over the volcano's pool of lava. I know what Gloria's response was, but was there any follow-up to let the kids off the hook regarding the fate of Melman and his suspected terminal disease? Anywhere? Were the kids really supposed to accept that that Melman had made peace with his fate and there you go? I was so certain it would turn out to be nothing, but didn't actually see any such scene.

I would trust my own viewing, but in this case I received a defective netflix and returned it at about the "brown spot" discovery, it was two days later that I picked up the story on a new netflix. I might have missed something due to scene selection or unknowingly in the parts of the film I watched on the damaged disc.

Please let me know if there is a definitive resolution scene following the salvation of Melman by Gloria.
Thanks for any help.

...and my brain makes such pretty pictures...

Yes, during that volcano scene you see the other giraffes dancing like the Roxbury Guys from SNL and the other giraffe witch doctor comes by and they said they thought he was dead. He said he thought so too but realized that brown spot was nothing as all giraffes have brone spots.

Me fail English? But, that's unpossible.
