Something that has bothered me since the advertising for this movie came out and afterwords, is the mistake in the title!!

It's supposed to be Madagascar 2: Escape Africa NOT Madgascar: Escape 2 Africa.

It makes NO SENSE! Madagascar is PART OF AFRICA why would they be escaping TO AFRICA if they are already there?

The "2" is there to signify that it is the second movie of the Madagascar series.

You don't see Madagascar: Europe's 3 Most Wanted anywhere!!

Furthermore, why am I the only one to notice this?

Do you honestly think that was a mistake??
Rather than a deliberate title choice, to signify that's its the 2nd movie and that their escaping to mainland Africa.
It's not a great title, granted, but it's clearly not a mistake! I would imagine they expected not many of the target audience to realise Madagascar was part of Africa!
Apparently the original title was "Madagascar 2: The Crate Escape", which is much better!

Except they didn't use any crates in this movie as they might have planned
