I've seen it, you should too.

I've seen this movie several times now, and it's very good. Seth Thomas, the guy that gets the liver transplant in the documentary, is a good friend of mine (I'm a Witness as well). I recently saw the final cut yesterday at a screening here in Texas.

Naturally, I have a good amount of bias being a Witness and close friends with one of the subjects, but this really is a documentary all should see.

Really, few people know who Jehovah's Witnesses are, what we're like, and what we do. This documentary is one of the few that sheds light on who we are, not as a religious organization, but as individual people with hopes, fears, and struggles.

No, it's not JW propoganda. The documentary is independently made and funded. No one who worked on making it are Witnesses. Joel Engardio went to great lengths to get this thing together and had to get cooperation from a large number of people, including the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. This movie not only looks at things from a Witness perspective, but also interviews many non-Witnesses with regards to their views on matters, including a rabbi, Seth's grandmother and doctors, and a holocaust researcher among others.

Tom and Joel (the directors) really succeeded in presenting a subject very few journalists even want to touch.

If all you know about Jehovah's Witnesses comes from Family Guy or your pastor, I recommend you check out this documentary (it'll be aired on May 22 on PBS). You'll definitely learn something new.

Thanks for the good words. I'm a witness too but I don't know any of the folks in this doc. I agree that this is well done and a good watch for anyone that wants a neutral third-party insight into the life and dealings of JW's. Very well done.

PS: Tell Seth no hard feelings about the VH guitar solo over strewn about literature. It added a touch of realism that was needed. Bersides, people should know that JW's love life and feel that it's ok to have fun and, yes, even rock out sometimes. Maybe he should clean up his room though, if he's feeling up to it. Phylia.
