Well... Right after he removes the stone and he is done, starting to pack up, he stops and goes back "to work" and the next scene is of Mr Lovett's cold, dead feet, so it would seem that he cut him some how to cause his death, then later, as has been pointed out, he admits to it, so all in all, I'd say Mr Todd was, in fact, complicit in Mr Lovett's demise.
shareYes, he did. After he removes the stone and says that everything will be fine, he looks over at Mrs. Lovett and sees that she looks saddened by that (remember he was abusive). He then "checks" to be sure there aren't any other stones with the surgical scissors---I think he probably nips an artery.

Of course he killed him (at least in the film). I do not know the real story about the actual Demon Barber of Fleet Street, himself. But in this movie he certainly went back inside Lovatt after removing the stone and did something to him.

Yes. After he removes the stone, there is no reason for him to go in again. He only says there is another one and goes in again after he sees that Mrs. Lovett is disappointed that her husband will survive and that glance passes between them. There is another of those glances when she passes by him during the funeral procession, and I believe that later in the film, he admits to having killed Mr. Lovett.

The answer to your question, tmay_99. Is yes. Mrs Lovett gave Mr Todd a nod when he was removing Mr Lovetts' kidney stones. He then said, 'I'll check for more'. That's when he cut Mr Lovett, making him die of internal bleeding.
