Single Best Acting Scene EVER - Pierce Brosnan

I never paid much attention to Pierce Brosnan until The Matador. I'm not sure why but after seeing Seraphim Falls I truly realized just how much I underestimated him.

I liked the movie & thought the twist was one of the best (totally sucked in) but that scene on the mountain where Brosnan is patching himself up in the snow is probably the best acting I've ever seen.

I'd be remiss if I didn't come here and comment on it :)

Best Acting Scene EVER? How about Most Over The Top Statement EVER

reply

I can't believe that I came back in here to read that. argh.

That's ok. It's really nice to read a complimentary statement about an actor on these boards. So many people are so negative and insulting. Appreciation of acting is subjective. It really was a very good scene. Thank you for pointing that out. And yeh, I agree; Brosnan is a very underrated actor.

I was thoroughly impressed with his weeping at the realization of what he was going to have to do in order to get the bullet out & then cauterize the wound. I've seen field medicine practiced before where it's just as intense; very accurate as far as I'm concerned.

And yes, I'm in total agreement that Brosnan is severely underrated by most folk.

Overall the movie had some excellent acting. I agree that the fireside chat with the young boy was the best scene for Brosnan, but they were all very good. The young woman at the cabin also did an excellent job throughout her performance.

Brosnan was superb in that scene, credit where it's due.

It was an awesome scene, great job by Pierce. However I think that you can definately do better than saying thats the best acting scene of all time.

For example: I thought that Leo in Basketball Diaries was incredible, especially the scene at the door begging his mom for money "Ill be a good boy!" this was incredible acting and I will never forget it.

Another scene that really sticks out to me that many people have probably overlooked was Ed Harris in The Abyss in the scene where the girl was dead from drowning after he pulled her from the small ship over to the living ship, and hes trying to do CPR and everyones telling him shes dead and to try to get him to stop, and hes screaming and spitting everywhere that no, that she is still alive. Really incredible scene.

Theres several more great specific acting scenes, where I guess you could add this as one of those scenes but really in my opinion, the scene you are refering to was good and all but to me, not one of the best acting scenes ive ever seen. Not to take away from the actors as they both did an incredible job. I recommend you check out those scenes I mentioned, they are awesome.

Absolutely, the whole snow sequence in the beginning was perfect, his drowning in the water, the run in the woods and the whole bit. He was great, loved the movie.

I'm not gonna be here that long

hell, that's only one of four movies from him that i scored a 7 or higher, which are...

1.The Thomas Crown Affair (1999) - 8.5-9/10 (within my Top 38 movies in general)
2.The Matador (2005) - 8/10 (within my Top 75 movies)
-.After the Sunset (2004) (within my Top 75 movies. i would call this a fun movie)
4.Some Kind of Beautiful (2014-2015) - 6.5-7/10 (within my Top 218 movies. Brosnan/Hayek back together again. this movie turned out better than i thought it would be even though i knew they worked well together in After the Sunset)

i still like movies i score in the 6/10 range but they don't stand out from the pack like my 7's and higher do.

p.s. i used to think his Bond movies where solid but none of his Bond movies hold up for me anymore. but it's not his fault as it's basically the movies themselves that lack something, he was still a good Bond.

Ever?

You need to watch a lot more movies and TV.

Watch episode of Hell on Wheels when Bohannon has to kill his best friend. Watch it until the very end. The VERY end. That ending. Best acting I've seen in a long time.
