Solid doc with annoying music mixed too loud

Actually the music on its own is OK but it is so loud in the mix fighting interview subjects - some poorly recorded - so I missed some of the interviews because I couldn't make out the words. I don't know why directors persist in mixing music throughout a movies, especially a doc. It makes no sense. It robs the essence of the words and makes it hard to concentrate. Look, first time directors, knock off the music in movies. You don't need it. Look at Antonioni. And documentaries especially don't need a cacophonous background that mask brilliant and oftentimes hard-to-understand interview voices. And Hunter S Thompson's brilliant words surely don't need any help from a film's bad music director.

It's bad enough that Signe Anderson, original singer for Jefferson Airplane, is mistaken for Grace Slick but c'mon, director, get a good music editor next time.
