Il tifo esagerato dei due carcerieri farebbe pensare a una partita del Campionato del Mondo. A fine pellicola si dice che la casa di Moron è stata utilizzata sino al marzo '78, mentre i mondiali hanno avuto luogo nel mese di giugno, cioè tre mesi più tardi.

Yes, that's right, but I think "well, probably it was a friendly match, and not a World Cup one". In the movie it never says it's a World Cup match, does it?, so probably it's not a goof.

It is not supposed to be a World Cup match. You can tell, in the movie, because you can hear the TV commentator mention that that the match is happening at 'La Bombonera', while the national team didn't play any matches there during the World Cup. It must have been a friendly match like a previous poster wrote, the teams 'preparing' for the World Cup.

Definetely not World Cup. the match taken place before March 1978 (their escape). The World cup was in June-July 1978
