New wide release date--spring 2009

They're talking to two distributors right now but I just can't understand why in the world this keeps getting pushed back!

I think it might have to do with marketing/distribution or something (getting the public aware/interested in this is kind of a challenge since it has to do with the Holocaust and mental illness, but still) so that might be the reason.

I got the info from Ain't It Cool, so it might not be 100% accurate, but it's the only info that's out there right now.

As for the Oscars...that's really hard to say. The article says that because the date was pushed back, the Oscar talk has died down, but that makes no sense at all (unless I'm missing something.) The film has already been screened at three festivals (Toronto, Telluride and Austin) AND has been reviewed by Variety and the Hollywood Reporter. So, it's out there even if not in a mass market way. Independent films have it tougher when it comes to Oscar campaigns but as we know there are PLENTY of Indpendents that have made it to the Oscars.... (Juno being one, although it was picked up almost right away.)

Maybe this is why we haven't seen a trailer yet....ah, so confusing. I hope the situation gets cleared up soon.

'Kay, there's a distributor now (they don't say who though) but they're still not sure if there'll be a 2008 or '09 release:
