Surprisingly Good

It is on the Moon DVD... the first half is boring but it turns out to be quite the good short film... so don't give up on it like I almost did.

Yeah, my attention was drifting until the scene where it shows one of the "hits" with their family. Definitely unfolded pretty slow. Watching this and Moon back to back was quite the "slow moving foreign style film" endurance test for me :-) However, halfway in, it really picked up and I ended up quite enjoying it. Went back and re-watched the first half afterwards.

The theme that hit home with me most: how long can you go doing a job that is at odds with your morals/conscience? What would have to happen before you hit the breaking point? And what would you do to resolve the situation? Keep doing your job (out of duty to support your family, etc) and be miserable/conflicted or risk losing financial security (and I guess in this case, your wife) to follow your conscience?

I liked it as well, probably just as much as "Moon." I wish there was more of a venue for short films, but I'm usually glad to find them on bonus features of DVDs. Much better than the inevitable "making of" and deleted scenes, which seem increasingly generic.
