my mate has this gamne and he said its noway nere a good as spiderman 2, because movement is very limited, you cant do as much stuff like running on the wall, less combos etc. can anyone please shed some light on this????????

Yes, I agree, it is a step down from Spider-Man 2 but still ahead of Spider-Man.
I didn't even know that as Spider-Man you could web zip your self UPWARDS on a building until AFTER I completed storymode, which sucks because I could've used that.
Yes it is toned down. You cannot sprint, you cannot swing as fast, the webzip is neat but still not good enough, sometimes he responds late on a swing, he swings TOO close to the street for my standards, and agreed, there are less fighting combos. Just a combination of punches and kicks.
I'd have to be quite honest, Spider-Man the movie game has better fighting combos than in this game. In Spider-Man, you find the golden spiders and wallah, you get a new combo. And those combos work fairly well. In Spider-Man 2, need I even explain the awesome fighting style and large collection of moves? Yep, the combat is a step down.
I still miss the web dome where you curl in a ball and unleash powerful webbing. That is something this game and Spider-Man 2 lack.

Spiderman 2 was amazing, played it for a year straight trying to complete 100%.
ANd I Just got Ultimate Spiderman hoping for the same standards and Im seriously let down, as Im playing it all I can think of is spiderman 2, they should of kept the same controls and moves. Spiderman is really slow, doesnt have the jumping boost and you cant jump up walls as your crawling either. I was hoping they'd become upgrades but no such luck.
But I have to say playing as Venom is Amazing.. But so far Ive played as him 3 times.. few and far between and it doesnt last long at all then Im back to the new lame spiderman.
Venom gets old too though, the minute you damage a car the military goes after you and then the fun is over.
the webzip in this game is better than the web zip in spider-man 2, in fact, the webzip can sometimes be even more efffective than the swinging

theres a trick to keep the millitary off you and you can trash all the cars and people you want
when you play as venom, throw a car, then while its in midair or when ur score pops up, (cant remember it, look at a game cheat site to know for sure) anyways pause and go to switch costume option, the game will ask if you want to abandon your current mission and select yes, when you can select a costume, hit cancel and the score will dissappear and you can trash as many cars as your heart desires, try throwing them at people and in the water or at helicopters, its pretty fun, i personally liked throwing them up on buildings and try to jump up there into the explosion
but i returned this game cause overall it was really disappointing and the ultimate storyline just makes me mad that they basically rape what makes the characters who they are
