Confused....

I'm not entirely sure what to think of this movie... Was he just a paranoid schizophrenic the entire time? Was there ever really a drug trial?

reply

Yes, it was all real. He was part of a drug trial.

reply

Okay, "all real" is a little bit much. He was on a drug trial, though. The adverse side effects were the belief in super powers. When he took his friend to the doctor and he convinced them that there wasn't even a drug trial it was because the company was afraid (especially after their logo had made it onto television with a connection to a crazy guy running around tackling people) that a deal to sell the drug and make themselves rich wouldn't work out.

Les was on drugs, but they only made him think he had powers. That bit was all in his head.

reply

what about the part where he and the doctor used telepathy? they seemed to be reading each others minds. i don't think that was an illusion

reply

They seemed to be reading each other's minds because Les was having an audio hallucination in which he heard the doctor speaking to him with his mind. Also not real. Also a side effect.

reply

Ok, when I said "all real" I meant everything that happened. I guess I just find it EXTREMELY obvious that his hallucinations are just that, hallucinations. And the real things going on are...REAL!

I don't get why everyone is so confused by this movie. I keep hearing people and bad reviews going "Were the suits real?" or "I think the suits had super powers too" or "I think the main character really did have super powers - he got hit by a car...der".

Sorry, guys. The movie was exactly how it was presented. A guy that took some pills at a drug trial and went crazy. Not hard to understand.

pitkc - I agree with everything you said.

reply

One contradiction when he took his friends to the doctor was that he (the doctor) denied everything but then gave him a antidote for the drug!?

reply

It's not an antidote it's a laxative or something like that ;)

reply

The doctor was afraid of being sued, in fact the suits made him shred his file. They needed the drug to be released do they covered up his case.

What a crazy nation of socialist republics that are together in a federation, of craziness

reply

Yes, agree with your explanation with one minor adjustment - my understanding is that they wanted their drug to be bought out by a bigger pharma company. Not that it was going to be released immediately or anything - but just the rights to everything sold to the other company.... that's what the suits said in the limo.

reply

Special? You'd have to be 'special' to like a pile of dross like this piss poor excuse for a film.
