Stallone Best Actor Oscar Snub?

Anyone else think that Stallone was Robbed of a Best Actor Oscar Nomination for this movie? I thought Stallone's performance in this movie was much more Oscar worthy than his performance in Creed.

MGM didn't put any force behind it for Oscar nominations. Stallone tried to get some attention from them but without the studio's help, it was a lost cause from the start (I have seen several "for your consideration" Oscar promos for the film).

I do legitimately feel Stallone's performance in "Rocky Balboa" is his best performance as the character. And while probably not a popular opinion, I feel his direction of "Rocky Balboa" is better than John Avildsen's Oscar-winning direction of the first movie.

Yeah, I sincerely think that at the very least a nomination would have been deserved. I would even go as far as to say that it wouldn't had been too far fetched to at least give him a nomination for the screenplay or the direction ... but let's not push our luck.

There's so many actors and actresses that have won or been nominated that have been completely forgotten.

He's stood the time of 40 years or more in Hollywood...so he's definitely an icon!

And this was most certainly better than Creed.

...

Maybe when the Oscars telecast garners less than 10 million viewers he'll get a nomination again.
