Awesome film! Marvel delivers Again

Obviously, if you're tired of the Marvel films then you should probably stay away from this; however, if you are a fan but are on the fence to see this one see you anyway because I promise you will be surprised

8.5/10 incredibly creative and very funny

reply

Agreed. A very entertaining movie. Paul Rudd was fantastic!

reply

8.5/10!? What are your issues???

reply

Only issues were it wasn't as good as Guardians which I have a 9/10

reply

Great to hear. Where would you place in terms of your other favorite MCU films? What number?

Marvel 2015: Agents of Shield, Agent Carter, Avengers 2, Daredevil, Ant-Man, Jessica Jones!

reply

it's kinda hard, I love most of the MCU films but I also have some minor problems with them. they are all rather formulaic but they are always consistently entertaining.

this one I would rank with Captain America the Winter Soldier, and Iron Man 1 and 2, I liked it more the Thor films and the first captain america, and iron man 3 and TIH

I'd say the Avengers films and Guardians are my favorite so my ranking would go like

1. The Avengers 9.5/10
2. Guardians of the Galaxy 9/10
3. The Avengers Age of Ultron 8.5/10
4. Ant-Man 8.5/10
5. Captain America the Winter Soldier 8.5/10
6. Iron Man 8/10
7. Iron Man 2 8/10
8. Captain America the First Avenger 8/10
9.Thor 7/10
10. Iron Man Three 7/10
11. The Incredible Hulk 7/10
12. Thor the Dark World 6/10

i could definitely notice here and there where Edgar Wright had been involved, there were a lot of real creative moments this movie handled, but I could also see where the probably held him back a bit and wanted him to do things with the film that he didn't want (like the Falcon scene) but even though the writing wasn't THE BEST, the acting more than made up for it and the actors were definitely selling this comic-booky-dialogue pretty well, and Paul Rudd is a very likable lead and all the extras get to stand out as well. I thought Evangeline Lily was pretty good, best I've seen from her but again, it wasn't like her character was ALL the compelling or anything. Michael Douglas KILLED IT as Hank Pym and Corey Stoll was alright as the bad guy. the bad guy wasn't the best but I wasn't expecting him to be. I'd rank him probably alongside Iron Monger, Whiplash and Abomination. Was a better villain than Malekith, Alexander Pierce and Aldrich Killian, not as good as Loki Winter Soldier or Ultron tho.

Yes !!

GOTG is a great film! Exceptional! I'm not taking anything away from it but the dance off at the end was a huge letdown. It ruined the entire feel. I pray James Gunn doesn't have something dumb like that again in the script for GOTG 2.

reply

The dance off was the 78th thing wrong with that movie.

reply

Well, if you're "tired of the Marvel phones" you have poor taste in film or are a frustrated fanboy of a competing franchise. So, your agenda and opinion doesn't matter in the least. Who cares what they think?

reply

I wonder what Exceptional Joe might say?

reply

Which one?

reply

It’s because in the Marvel Cinematic Universe ideals, not abilities, define heroism. That's why the MCU is here to stay and will have the lasting power. Ant-Man will be a large part of that.

reply

That's all sweet with absolutely no bitter.

reply

The higher the RT score climbs the more people will know that real reviews like this one are right on the mark and that the trolls saying otherwise haven't even seen the movie and are full of it.

reply

8.5/10???? omg. πŸ˜₯

Why you ask? Because He's Batman, that's why.

Man of Steel a 9/10???? omg. πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯

reply

I know, right.

How cool is that?

reply

You could definitely tell it had Edgar's touch on the screenplay. The scenes that tied this in with the bigger universe more than made up for giving him the boot. For yet another origin story this felt so fresh and unique. More in the spirit of the Incredibles. But more for parents than kids. I give this a solid 9/10. This is a great movie and far surpasses my expectations.

reply

Just pay to see Ant-Man every time anyone visits the cinema now through the end of August.

reply

More and more reviews are confirming this statement.

reply

We need a link to that J Jahns review. The guy loved it.

reply

Indeed, a great flick! I'd put it near the top of the MCU films.

reply

Maybe at the very top?
