Everyone knows I'm a Marvel fanboy but I also tend to have a finger on the pulse of the GA. This film doesn't have the same amount of Hype as movies like GotG and other MCU films before it but it does have a good amount of buzz going on in the world. Boxoffice.com posted a few weeks ago Ant-Man's total awareness level was at 77% and that was before the final push of the Marvel Marketing Machine blitz. Almost all of the social media buzz (especially the early screening stuff) is glowing. I had the same feeling about GotG and predicted big things about that movie before it dropped and was certain of it once I saw it on OW. I have the same feeling with this film and I've already caught an early screening so I know it's damn good. The heart is what is going to connect with the GA, the comedy is what is going to get people talking and the action as well. Now when I see any Marvel film I always make sure to drag my best bud to the films, he is usually a good barometer as to what the GA will think since he is not a fanboy like me and not familiar with the source material. The last Marvel movie he straight up didn't like: CA:TFA and we all know how the RT score and reviews went for that film. He loved GotG, thought AoU was decent, loved TWS, thought TWD was good and really loved the Avengers. He thought some of the comedy wasn't all that funny but said there were many times he had genuine laughs which surprised him since it takes a lot for him to LOL. He plans on taking his GF with him on OW to see it again with me because he liked it that much. I also saw the early screening with my best bud's friend and although I don't know him very well he really loved the movie too but is mildly familiar with the Marvel movies. Is this a dramatic consensus? Not by any means but in all the years of following the Marvel films I can't recall being wrong about one of their films yet.
