Pleasantly Surprised

I bought this DVD for $2 when a local video store was closing thinking it was just a WWII movie I hadn't seen yet, I live in the US and had never heard of it before. When I got home and looked at it I realized it was a mini-series.

I'm a pilot and an WWII aviation buff and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by a mini-series I had never heard of before...it was very well done and interesting and after watching the first night I couldn't wait to watch the second.

It was obvious that the budget wasn't huge, they used one Hudson aircraft throughout the entire film, but other than that it was great.

One goof I noticed that isn't mentioned on this site; at one point a character states that the aircraft they're flying; the Hudson, is the same one that Amelia Earhart disappeared in, actually Amelia Earhart was flying a Lockheed Electra L10 when she vanished, not a Hudson. While the Hudson was developed from the Lockheed Super Electra L14, and it was the same development line,it was a very different aircraft from the smaller L10. They really don't even look much like one another other than both having a twin boom tail assembly.
