Jason Priestly?

Just watched this dvd after finding it in the cheap weeklies at my local store. Jason Priestly is featured on the cover both in name and the most prominent photo yet only appears for about 2 minutes (if that) in the film. What gives? Was he largely chopped from the final product or used to give the movie some (mediocre) star power?

I found it an ok movie to watch although the second half seemed bit lacklustre and plodded. Most of the excitement and action was in the leadup to the first cross atlantic flight and after the "intermission" it was mostly about the romantic aspect of the movie.
