American remake of The Substitute?

I've heard that producers at Mandate purchased the rights to The Substitue in 2009. Anyone know when--or if--the American remake will be released. Or is that project dead in the water? The remake could easily earn a PG-13 rating just by eliminating the f-word, and if that were done I am sure that the film could attract a large and appreciative American audience, including millions of tweeners who would connect Ulla with one or two of their least favorite teachers. Are we ever going to see the Hollywood version of this great little movie??
