What is French for Holligan?

Zidane is a hooligan and not a gentleman and deserved every Red Card he has received for unsportsmanlike conduct in violation of Law 12, may his name be blotted from History

George Best - Ridiculous drunk
Pele - Money grabber
Diego Maradona - Drug addled cheat
Eric Cantona - Prone to fits of petulance, violence and weirdness

Undoubtedly all deserving of a place in football history.

Just because Zidane isn't a perfect human being doesn't mean he wasn't one of the modern era's greatest footballers.

I understand your point, Caltraps but I think you are being far too harsh. Especially when calling Georgie Best a "ridiculous drunk". George was incredibly ill, incredibly, incredibly ill in a way I hope you never have to go through yourself or witness anyone else going through. I would never call him ridiculous. He is my favourite player of all time, after all.

Your list is interesting though, and it fills some of my favourite and who I consider the best footballers of all time.

Just out of interest, to list.

My favourite...

Best
Cantona
Maradona
Pele

Who I consider the best...

Maradona
Best
Pele
Cantona

I also think the OP has no idea what he is talking about and is most likely the type of person who lives for being offended! Who will search out things to offend him/her, so s/he can gossip about how awful it is to anyone who will listen.

Problem with people like that though, it doesn't take long for people to get tired and bored of them and simply stop listening.

are you a ref?? what a load of crap, every player gets sent off now and then, it's part of the game...he's the best player ever in my opinion...which i get the idea is of much greater value than yours.

What is English for "Holligan?"

reply

Everyone has their "favourite player".

But Zidane won every major tournement he was able to compete in which he always had a big influence in. How many players have won Serie A, La Liga, Euro Champions League, Euro Championship and World Cup etc. So what if he has an edge to him as well as his footballing talent. That edge gave him that competitiveness to make him a winner!

Stmac...

I've never thought of Zidane as being the best footballer of all time but I will claim every time that he is easily the most graceful footballer of all time.

Coincidentally, I was debating this point with my old man, earlier today. He disagrees and thinks Bobby Charlton is the most graceful. I can understand his thinking but I reckon he has a different idea of "graceful" to me.

Four years later and no Zidane. The hooligan retired before he could be thrown out. Kudos to FIFA for returning to the original motto "Fair Play."
