The movie is HELL

Think and recherche bevore you watch it. The part playing in Africa is really extreme.
If you don't like to watch animals die or strong graphic scenes, let it be or don't watch the 2nd part (placed in Africa).

Don't get me wrong, the movie is really good. I liked it but it's extreme, although interesting how people can live that way.

I don't think it's so extreme, they are just cutting necks of cows, killing pigs at home is pretty traditional thing in villages in central/east europe (poland, slovakia (from here it was displayed in latest Palin's BBC TV serie), hungary, romania...)

of course they are killed more "humane" way, mostly with gun like in No Country For Old Men, but I remember when I was young(er)(10-15y ago) my grandma was cutting neck of pig and catching blood into pot and twist/move (?) it with her hand (instead spoon), but everything after pig was shot down already

there are children who don't have grandparents living in villages, so it's big attraction for them (like ZOO), probably mostly in western europe but it's not so unusual on east, but it's becoming rarely for everyone (even for people from villages), because it's uneffective to raise own pig/s, it's easier and for almost same price to just buy meat in hypermarkets from mass production farms

Now I was born in Poland and lived there as child (but not on a farm) and as far as I can tell and also as far as I know about the countries you've listed here it's NOT usual to handle animals in the way as depicted in this movie.

You've got to differ that the movie is about the third world (the part in Africa) and that you cannot compare to East Europe. I don't think of places like the one in the movie as... well... "bad" places - but rather as something completely unknown to people from the first world. The culture is completely different and the people live there, so I wouldn't go so far to say they shouldn't but I for myself cannot imagine living in such conditions, because they are so extreme. For me it's hell, for the people there it's home.
On the other hand we have similar circumstances everywhere in the world, even here in Austria where I live there are for sure some *beep* hillbillies who care about hygiene as well about animal rights the same way they do in the Africa part in the movie. The difference is, and that's why I say that they are *beep* re**rded hillbillies that WE somehow can choose our methods while in the place from the movie the people are influenced differently.
Just I don't judge about those people as you can see, for me those are just extreme circumstances and I wouldn't defend the opinion of a stupid racist that our world is better and theirs is bad, it's very just different and I accept it simply as it is.
I'm not an ignorant or anything.

Don't forget the reason the animals are all having their throats cut is because the meat will be for a halal market. Islam is the majority religion in the country.
And I think i'd rather see animals killed in a natural way, which is also fairly quick and painless, than see them on the conveyer belt meat processing factories of the west.

I love animals as well. I take in shelter animals, rescue wild bats, birds and other creatures (turning them over to the proper rescue authorities), I have raised goats, rabbits, pigs and cattle, using humane, healthy methods. I have also slaughtered and eaten those same animals because I face the reality of animal life on this planet which for the most part includes eating other animals.

I suggest you find a term other than "animal lover" to describe a life style that ignores the real cycle of nature, with birth, death, replenishment and digestion of meat proteins.

I don't know what your fearful hiding should be called, but it certainly isn't "love of animals".
