Almeria (Tomato) Google Earth coordinates

Here are the coordinates for the huge tomato plantages in the south of Spain (Almeria):
Latitude: 36°44'41.23"N
Longitude: 2°43'2.71"W

It's HUGE!

My top movie list -

Darn it, you can see the damn Tomato shacks from outer space. I'll change my buying behaviour now. The Western World sucks big time!

I should add that i tasted romanian tomatos (not hybrid gentech) my mate brought from a trip down there. They were like something you've never eaten before. Fruity, spicey, full off different flavours - like colourful fireworks in your mouth. When they were gone i bought spain tomatoes again the next morning (here in germany you dont get german tomatoes) - they tasted like always - water with some kind of red organic shell.

I can tell you, vampires and other creatures like the Nestle CEO should be fed their own medicine. Companies in TRIPS, GATS foremost Microsoft, Nestle, Coke and Pfizer (the list doesnt end here) they all should be brought to Brasilia to drink some poisened water and watch their own kids dying of starvation. On the other hand, nobody should have to do that...

And with the agriculture as it is now in the world we could <easily> feed 12 billion people. Makes you puke what's going on instead...

What freaks me out even more is the number of people and children who starve to death every 5 Seconds:

"Every five seconds a child under ten dies of starvation. A child that dies of starvation is in effect murdered."

Jean Ziegler, UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food

A quarter of Vienna’s residual waste consists of unconsumed food, most of which is still perfectly fit to eat. At the same time the number of starving people in the world is increasing steadily:

852 million people suffer from malnutrition, most of them in Africa and Latin America.

Even in rich industrialised countries around 10 million people do not get enough to eat. More than five million children die of malnutrition every year according to a current report issued by the FAO, the Rome-based UN organisation for food and agriculture.

Economic interests are placed before social and ecological necessity,

hunger makes people sick and unproductive

anti-hunger policy would only benefit national economies, and not the globally and nationally influential international corporations.
