I heard that they are making a new and updated version of this for the big screen.

That would be great and I can't wait to see who will be starring in this. My ideas would be:-

Ed Harris - Andy Spader
Susan Sarandon - Elaine Spader
Julia Roberts - Claire Holmes
Jena Malone - Petra

I'd hope not. It was perfect as it was. And no one could do a better job as Petra than Laura Greenwood. The same goes for the rest of the cast too.
