VERY surprised that anyone liked this piece of crap

My friend brought this over and unsuspectingly to me, put it in my DVD player. Me, my two friends and my boyfriend watched this thing in horror. God-freaking-awful. I'm all about dark comedies. I'm all about funny and campy, but this was just HORRIBLE. The acting was atrocious! The making of the film was even worse. I think a high school group could've done loads better. We were laughing through the WHOLE THING and not because it was funny.

"Group hug!" ... WHAT THE HELL?
"They have magic, you know." - YOU'RE AN IDIOT.

And what the hell was up with the connection between Norbert and Dummy? When either gets hurt, the other shows signs of the pain as well. However, Angelina had just told Norbert that she'd been doing Dummy's voice all along. How the hell does that make any sense? First, she's the one who's been doing his voice, THEN he and Norbert are magically connected. Huh?

So... we're led to believe that she's pregnant by her brother (NASTY!) but when she has the baby, he's part wooden. Ok. Does that mean she slept with the puppet too or is that just from the whole Norbert and Dummy are magically connected?

This movie was just.......... beyond bad. So, so, SO bad.

I liked your review it was very well thought out and honest and i love the fact that you remember the names of the characters!. I heard from someone who worked on the film.. ** I promsed her I woldn't name, names but I heard the Director who is also the writer was lost at times on the set and couldn't make up his mind at times on how to shoot things. I guess that happens making films. But she said he was going off script and changing the plot as he went along. This movie looks like it could have been a really great indie film but you are right lots of stuff doesn't makes sense and it does come across as amature film making. But I think it looks really great. The DP did an amazing job. I saw earlier posts where everyone was blaming the producers of the film for being a disappointing movie but you can't blame producers they didn't write it or direct it! Maybe the producers should be faulted with picking a director who hasn't had a film out that anyone's heard of since 1993. But since the director also wrote the film maybe he had to direct or they couldn't get the script.
