That annoying whispered narration

Can anyone here claim they've understood every word of that whispered narration? What's the point of having characters...EVERY CHARACTER...whisper their narration?

There is no "off" position on the genius switch.

"You just didn't get it. Try watching Transformers instead, duh"
....just kidding, the whispering was a bit overdramatic. I needed coffee to view this film. Imagery was spectacular, but an odd mix of "2001" & Science channel, wrapped around a depressing plot. Confusing to say the least, like Malick couldn't commit to one film or the other.
Someone's brother dies ... then cut to a 30 minute nature show, with dinosaurs ... then more dopey and clinical acted scenes, etc. To be kind, I'd call it "daring".

I would not call it a whisper. Just low key.

It's that man again!!

I understood most of it. I'd say it's one of the few films of his where I didn't have much trouble understanding the narration. That being said, I'd like to see him have more of a variance in narration itself. Add some character, ect.

I have ears that work correctly so I understood everything. I'm sorry for your hearing condition.

I find it kinda funny that for the copy of the move I had, at the beginning it said something like: "the filmmakers recommend you turn the volume up a bit", just made me chuckle a bit. The soothing narration works really well within the film overall.

Raging Bull = Best movie

"Hushed tones" imply deep, life changing meanings. You didn't know this??
