Too ridiculous

I like a good anthology as much as the next guy, but most of the stories here were just too absurd. The one that particularly got to me? The tapeworm story. Why? Because the way it was set up and explained, it was biologically impossible. Tapeworms live in the intestines, children develop in the womb, not the "gut". Therefore a woman can have both a tapeworm (or several more likely) and a baby, but they will never have any physical interaction. Second of all, tapeworms are supposed to be flatworms, but every time you saw the worm in the movie it was round and lumpy like an earthworm. Third of all, tapeworms absorb nutrients from the intestine walls, they don't steal food from the stomach. End rant on that one. Sorry to those of you who liked it and will say "lighten up it's a movie", but having studied a lot of biology, I hate when filmmakers present something so grossly off base from the facts.
That one irritated me the most, but the rest seemed just weak. Vampire tits...ok that's funny but not scary. The monk story...well the animated parts looked like bad hentai. The old director...that was long winded and ultimately ended up going out with a whimper. The wraparound story was obviously derivative and done much better in the Vault of Horror and Tales form the Crypt. I hate when people say they're paying homage, and then just rip something off that was previously done better.
Sorry for the rant, but I wanted to see this one for a while after reading about it in Fangoria and was let down pretty bad.

Agreed. Its stupidity isn't why it's bad though. I can overlook stuff that doesn't make sense (like a tapeworm being in a womb) if it's an entertaining movie. Unfortunately it didn't even do that.

Bad acting, terrible writing, poor pacing, so-so stories for the most part, and a lack of anything interesting happening keep this from being a good movie...
