So they weren't trapped?

And yet this movie is called trapped ashes. So I guess it was their doppelgangers or something trapped inside. Whatever, this movie was ridiculously bad. Not even all the untasteful nudity they threw into the mix could made this any good.

I think its a dimensional thing..they are doomed to keep repeating it over and over.

The only thing I didn't get was why the boyfriend who was killed by the boobs and the husband were there...they were the innocent victims.

Any ideas?

All the people had died, and didn't realize it yet. This was the devils (or whoevers) way of telling them they are dead, and are going to/in hell. It had nothing to do with some being innocent and some not, they were all dead and that's it. The chick with the boobs was sentenced to death for killing her boyfriend (which is revealed by the undertaker/cart driver character as he drives around at the end...)

Not a terrible movie, had some funny moments here and there, but the last couple stories were super weak, and took twists they thought were innovative, but were just stupid. But there's worse ways to pass a couple hours while drinking with some friends... the real question is why this was made in 2006 and it's at blockbuster under new releases (which are only supposed to be a year old at most, after one year they're supposed to be moved to the old releases section...)

Years later, having just watched it, I'm left with the same question. I guess the viewer can assume they'd done some bad things too, but it would've been nice to have a clue what.

Huh? They are trapped. This is shown explicitly in the final scene.
