Hmmm

Dont really know what to say about this.
I think Chris R. Wright has got a very promising future as an actor, he was after all the only one who actually thought about what he was doing and was in my opinion the star of the show. I cannot help but wonder however, that he must've been terribly frustrated with the rest of the cast and film makers.

Dont get me wrong I give 10/10 for effort and working on a project for 4 years takes amazing commitment and dedication, not to mention a strong friendship but there was just so much wrong with it.

To say it was shot on weekends and spare time you cannot tell, the continuity of costumes, make up and general feel of the film comes across as if it was shot in 1 week so kudos for that. I just dont think the film makers thought long enough about the story, or the script or the characters for that matter.
In the making of featurette it states that they started by making a short film and then thought 'what if we make 4 shorts -we'll have a feature'. Wrong! you'll have 4 shorts cut together.

Well done for getting Warwick Davies by the way, he starts the film off so well but i think it was a mistake putting him back at the end. Such a talented actor literally stole away the limelight from the efforts of the rest.
I did like the post production of the crazy skies but some of the editing was fairly poor. Characters were introduced willy nilly and died in anti climatctic ways without ever mingling with each other elsewhere in the film.
The look of the baddies were far too over blown to be taken seriously. Again in the featurette it states that they were to be originally given an american 'dawn of the dead' look but that it was later decided that we (British) have our own backwoods people and that this in itself should be utilized in the name of horror... it wasn't. Can I ask when have you ever seen a farmer or a gypsy with a bag on his head Or looking like a pirate? Or firing horse shoes at people? I think that the film makers tried to give it a class and style that could only be achieved from a bigger budget, they were half way there, but they just wern't justified. The CGI effects were very very good, just again anti climactic and irrelevant to the progression of the story.
The gore effects were also very well done just poorly executed. I love gore but on a personal note I think a good Horror film captures its fans with the art of suspense, something which - in individual scenes this film lacked BUT on a whole prevailed tremendously. No matter what my complaint, I simply had to watch this film to the end just to see if the couple survived, I half expected them to suddenly die in some stupid accident but they didn't! So absolutely well done for that, there was definitly an ubnderlying suspense factor throughout, no matter how stupid the scene was or how strange the acting was This film made me continue watching. So on that note I say well done for having an interesting beginning and a suspensful ending and a couple of good actors. It's just the middle bit that went a bit weird but I did thoroughly enjoy watching it, if only for the laugh you all had clearly present on your faces.
I am proud to have this dvd on my shelf and hope that the money I paid goes towards something equally as ambitious, yet organised a little better.
Good luck fellas!!!!!
