Brute Squad

where i come from the princess bride movie is a mormon favorite. i find that funny because it had special meaning to me(i know all the words by heart) long before i joined the mormon church! so is it just me and my memorization skills showing or did anyone else notice how they talked about the brute squad and then they show up he asks whats this and they say its the brute squad. thats a whole lot like in the princess bride where they show up at the door and they say they are the brute squad! the mean scottie guy that had the brute squad forced on him was the writer and director. i couldn't believe it. he isn't from anything else i don't think. so maybe this was his first. i know the character in the movie is not supposed to reflect who he is in real life, but i honestly wanted to punch this guy in the face if the brute squad didn't do it for me(if they did, they didn't show it)! it made me wonder if he was even mormon in real life. he didn't play a mormon and i know not everyone who plays in mormon movies are actually mormon(although some of them are and thats great!) but i just sort of got the impression that maybe his character is a reflection of who he really is and he must have done some research on the fact that mormons favor the princess bride a lot and thought if he added a little of it in there maybe the mormons wouldn't hate him so much! i don't know. but i almost couldn't watch this movie because of him and a few other things.... the mom dies and then shortly after everything is all happy again! what!!! OK so she got baptized. i wasn't ready for it, thats all. i needed more time to adjust and then the movie is over just like that. how can you be happy? rowan's cockiness drove me crazy. i made my room mate watch this with me and she tried to tell me that this is not the way mormons really are, but some are and its a wonder how movies like this can be made. anyone outside of the church would totally get the wrong impression. he only pursues those interested who are worth it as though they are perfect already and those who are really bad have no chance at getting baptized because they need too much work. thats crazy! everyone deserves to hear the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ no matter what their circumstances are. and then he kept switching from saying something totally outrageously stupid and then turning it around to oh i have to get my mom baptized. so now he suddenly has a heart! talk about multiple personalities! i myself have been confused with having multiple personalities and major mood swings, but this is ridiculous.
and i absolutely could not stand the girlfriend either. ally is like some 19 year old, not 21 like rowan stated. even rowan still says "dude" and thats not something a 21 year old should still be saying. grow up! and stop saying "baby"! its offensive to me. she looks like jenifer love hewitt from long ago at that age. she and he have never really been in much, but i think they did wonderful for such big parts. i just couldnt stand the "baby" and "dude" word being used so much. rowan looks like he is 25 or something, not 21 like a return missionary should be. so it didnt look right with some girl who looks like she is 19!
these are just a few of the reasons i almost couldnt watch this movie!!!
